{ 12:15 AM }
Now now, for our second day at desaru... what shall we do?
Definitely has to be Desaru fruit farm! Which idiot will make a trip to desaru and leave without visiting the fruit farm?
Cactus? No.... it's dragonfruits! Well, dragonfruits are in the cacti family actually....
Wah.... rambutans???
No! It's a combination of lychee, longan and rambutan! hahaha... Sa came up with his description.
our guide decided to pluck one for the youngest of the group, which turn out to be me! Yippee~
Then it was the passionfruit trail. We had unriped green passionfruits hanging over our heads!
Char was given the fruit to try....
And she dropped it almost immediately.
Of course, we had to take another group shot under all the UNRIPED passionfruits!
Breadfruit! Haha, i rmb seeing it on tv. We can't eat it raw. Gotta cook it! But we didnt get to try it at all. sadded.
Err... Buah Long Long? Some icky tasting fruits.... My mum insists that it tastes great in pickled form. I guess so...
One of my most hated fruit, durians.
one of my favourite fruit packed full of vitamin c. Guava!
One of my hated fruits, papayas. These are some roundish papayas.... they're hawaiian. hahaha! The Hawaiian payayas.
Mata Kuching! Jx happily thought that the 'mata' here refers to police. Nope, it doesnt. It's translated into cat's eye. Not, police cat please!
what a lonely pineapple. =(
Yes, that's a pomelo you see hanging on the tree....
We can't get to see much dark purplish mangosteens because they're not in season yet. But a semi purplish+greenish mangosteen is much prettier!
Jambu, or water apple. I dont really like it. It's always tasteless!
this is a not considered very big jackfruit, as according to our guide. that's why jackfruit is the largest fruit in the world.
this is the most orangey sweet corn i've ever seen!
this is the *something something* fruit, which supposedly can help us stay youthful.... But the trick is to not have any facial expression while you eat it. I didn't try it, but seeing the others eating it kinda proved that it's impossible.
And these two guys immediately tried it. Well, hopefully in ten years time we'll see them looking exactly like how they looked like in this photo....
Some coffee(nut) for you?
That's thousand finger bananas. Only for aesthetic purposes, not for eating. Hahaha....
Then we got to the herbs garden.... there were alot of herbs and plants but of course we didnt bother to take each and every one of them. haha!
the thing you put inside one of my favourite food. Laksa leaf!
some pretty cat whiskers or something. It's supposedly good for people with some illness. is it diabetes?
Sa posed with the ribena fruit....
And there're kois at the herbs garden! an awful lot of them vying for food! such a violent group of BEAUTIFUL fishes, yeah tat tong?
This is a very cute 3 weeks old lamb! It resembled the Hush Puppy dog, right?
Yup, that's a croc for you.
eagle? hawk? falcon? oh whatever, definitely not a vulture.
A cage full of chickens, chicks, ducks, ducklings, quails and erm, baby quails? I was sooooooooooooo tempted to bend over and catch one of the ducklings.
Tortoises.... Not turtles. Definitely not turtles.
Turkey! I wanna eat!
Say hi to Mr. Ostrich too! Okay, maybe it's a Ms. I dont know.
And we saw a love-hate relationship between a baby monkey and a bunny!
Monkey: NOooooooooo~ Come back, rabbit! Come back!
Big hug~~ Aww!
This is the box of fruits given to us. =)
Apparently, sa thought it was not enough so she bought one full tub of 3 durians, which cost her only SG 12 bucks! Okay, i'm joking. She's buying it back for her parents. I refused to buy back for my parents because I dont wanna stink.
We planned on slacking at the lounge, but it's not open! *horrified gasp* no choice, we got to buy some food and kill time at the cafe/restaurant instead. After having lunch, we played another few rounds of Bridge. Yup, other than pool, i've spent 200+++ to come desaru to learn bridge. I've learnt it last night at like 3 plus in the morning actually. So I ended up snapping random pics while they taught yh. as compared to yh, i'm a super quick learner, right?
Yup, and we're finally on the ferry back to SG. Home sweet home~

{ 12:50 AM }
Yes, i've downloaded all the desaru pics and videos! Now it's going to be a picspam entry! beware, 40 photos ahead. and this is only day 1, which we did nothing much.
=.=''
minna-san, please anticipate my day 2 entry. lots of fruits and animals to be seen!
now, here we go...
now, why am i busily filling up a white card?
Yes, it's because we're going to Desaru!
Passport? Checked! White card? Checked! Luggage? Checked! Let's go~
This is the not-very-big ferry we're going to board. The entire ferry ride was just around 25 minutes...
this is our personal transportation to our resort. i'm serious... you'll see why...
another round of camwhoring before we set off for the resort! (of course i'm only uploading one of the lot we've taken.)
We filled up the entire mini bus, so it kinda felt like it's our personal transportation. when in actual fact, it's because everybody else was heading to the better resort we couldnt get a place in. =(
along the 45 mins ride, we saw... plantation...
Plantation....
AND MORE PLANTATIONS!
Sa busy checking us into the resort. I guess she is the most oversea travel smart person among us. Or at least, more travel smart then me.
This is the resort we checked into. And JX wondered if our beach is really golden.
=.=''
and of course, it's not golden!
and we took a long walk along it.... to find lunch. Hurhurhur!
we got a chinese lady (whom the guys felt is a fellow singaporean) to take a photo for us.
Sa wanna do a whisper advertisement shot. LOL!
And i joined in the 'fun' too!
We went to a cafe beside the beach for lunch. this is my nasi ayam goreng. I shared quite a bit of my chicken with a hungry ginger cat!
Guess what we're going to do next?
Tat Tong slotting in the tokens....
We're going to have a game of pool!
this is my very first pool experience.... and I cant believe it. I spend 200+++ to come Desaru to learn playing pool. =.=
And we got onto our 'private' mini bus again.... where to?
we are going to have our seafood dinner!
Camwhoring on the way.... again!
Tat Tong chatting up with our driver uncle. Haha.... And he did a good job! Plus we found out something from this uncle. In Malaysia, they fill petrol without turning off the car engine!
This is the restaurant we went! And got harassed by a hungry cat AGAIN. Hurhur... Sa insisted that I attracts them.
WAH~~ 'Chu Yi Chao Qun' wor! Hahaha.... I didnt notice of this tag at all, until i saw this photo. LOL
Before we eat, we shall take another picture. Haha, nobody would care about taking photos once we start eating. At least, i wont. =)
The menu. Hmm... what shall we eat?
Sambal kangkong for youuuuuuuuu?
yummy tofu!
Squid! It's nice! Tender and a little chewy. *slurps*
Yes, we ate lobsters! It just taste like a huge jumbo prawn actually. So, i dont really understand why so many people craze over lobsters and why it's so expensive.
What's 'eating seafood' without chilli crab? Looks nice, doesnt it? But it's a tad too sweet and not spicy enough for my liking. But I guess it's good for Char, since she cant take spicy food.
of course, we have mantou to go with them! Yummy~~
Their coconut juice. I didnt try it because i dont like coconut. LOL....
The firefly team. Haha... I refuse to spend RM40 bucks to see bugs! Noooooooooo~!
The baby(?) firefly they caught. I told sa i saw much bigger fireflies on documentaries and her reply was: Those are caucasian fireflies so they're much bigger. Asians are smaller in size. GOOD ONE!
